Transcript of the video published by The Open Scroll on November 5, 2026 titled: "Is Saul also among the prophets?" Prophetic Keystone as the Hinge of Massive Text Hey everybody, Bob the Open Scroll here. I want to share a couple things with you and you might think it's not really particularly relevant to the times given all that's going on in the world but actually it is very relevant because, very specifically, when you know what time it is on the Lord's prophetic calendar, you can overlook or minimize the impact of some of the other current events and focus on the big picture - because you know what the big picture is and where things are going. So, here this is the home page for the Open Scroll. I usually post the most recently updated and the most recently added studies on the site. You'll see, today, the 5th of November, I've added this one called "1 Samuel 19:18-24 The Hinge," so when we click on that we find - oh my! It's another one of these kinds of studies! It's what's called Discourse Analysis, or Parallelism, Chiasmus, Concentrism. So, I'm just going to read this passage and then I'm going to talk about why it's important and show you where you can learn more about why. 18 Now David fled and escaped and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth. 19 It was told Saul, saying, “Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.” 20 Then Saul sent messengers to take David, Yes, this is when David was famously being pursued by Saul and he went after escaping and went to the prophet Samuel 20 Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing and presiding over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul; and they also prophesied. 21 When it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. So Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied. 22 Then he himself went to Ramah and came as far as the large well that is in Secu; and he asked and said, “Where are Samuel and David?” And someone said, “Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.” 23 He proceeded there to Naioth in Ramah; and the Spirit of God came upon him also, so that he went along prophesying continually until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 24 He also stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” What a peculiar account, what's going on there well let me describe why I put it here in this arrangement this highly organized format. Tthis is an example of what I call a 6 + 6 parallelism, which another way to say is: in verses 18 through 21 what is written is repeated in 22 through 24 in the same order. And how is that? Well I'm going to hover my mouse over, and this is an interactive study. You see 18a and 22a highlighted, and you can read down through these for yourself, but here we have the first pairing, the second pairing the third, the fourth the fifth, and then the sixth. And while the first five are single lines the sixth is expanded, and you can see just as obviously as the first five are a match, the sixth also matches. But the structure of the sixth is more complicated and it differs from one section to the next. And again, hovering your mouse, you can see these three are companions. What's written in verse 20 is repeated in 21a and b is then repeated again in 21c and d, so there's a triplet. And how do you know? Well here we have it being repeated in the same order again, and this first one is expanded, but the second one is just single line, and they also prophesied, and, they also prophesied, and, they also prophesied. So here is an emphasis on the three times, this is in 20 the first time in 21a and b the second, and in 21c and d the third time. And how that matches up with this one, where Saul himself goes he, Saul, proceeded there. And you'll find that instead of being in three parts, 1, 2, 3, it's pretty much in one part, all about Saul going, and again, it's about him going there and prophesying, even before Samuel, and you'll see that this first section is actually a 2 + 2 chiasm, and the second section is a 2 + 2 parallelism, repeating in the same order. And highly energetic!. And quite significant. And why do we find this pattern and why might it seem familiar to you? Well, I'm going to first talk about why I came to that. I just saw this this morning, and put it together, and published it. And why is it of such interest to me? I have many that aren't published, I have many that are published, but this one in particular I want to point out is a feature of this study. Now this is a doctoral thesis presented by James Earl Patrick in 2016 and it's titled The Prophetic Structure of 1st and 2nd Samuel, so it's all very technical being his doctoral thesis, but I want to go to page 313 in the appendix where he has these structural outlines and so here he's going through the entire text of 1st Samuel 4.1 through 2nd Samuel 6.23, which isn't the complete book, but it's the entire chapter 4 (of 1 Samuel) all the way through 2nd Samuel 6:23. And in this section, he shows his work, and it looks very notable because this is a very expansive text that reflects back on itself. So you would say what's in this first part which is 4:1 through 19:24 is repeated in the second which is 20:1 through 6:23. I was curious about this central part. A lot of people like to place a single unit at the center of a pivot. Some call it one thing, some call it another, but I find that it rarely is perhaps most appropriate to identify it as a single unit. It could be done here, but it also, as we saw, is in two units. One repeating in the other, right? Three things with messengers being sent and then prophesying and then one with Saul himself going and prophesying. So I was inspired to look at this central section and I'm thinking I want to see if it divides in two exactly and what else might be learned from that because oftentimes, well very commonly, people who study these kinds of structures doing what they call discourse analysis will point to the primary significance of the pivot, which just makes sense, right? And I would sometimes agree with them in saying that the first in the outer sandwich is also very significant and it is and I would say that each one has its own point of signification and every step along the way is important. So here he has 21 steps and I would liken this to the book of Revelation, which I found in its entirety has 21 steps out and back or 21 concentric woven rings. So this is very interesting. The number aligns. 21 is a time number as well. A very significant time number. So now returning here, I talked about these three things followed by this other thing and basically Saul could have gone himself to start out with but three times he sent messengers and they failed in their mission. So he goes himself and you could say he fails in his mission but that's not really how it went. This is something very significant and therefore they say at the end of it is Saul also among the prophets and there's a point made in this. God is sovereign and he can do remarkable things with his people. On the site map, showing the site content on the open scroll, I have a collection of studies here called When Come At That Thief In The Night. It's a collection of studies in the service of food for his household at the proper time. The unfolding revelation of the chronology of the end times and that's usually significant. If you don't know about Will No One Know, which is also a book that I published recently that will inform you about just how significant this kind of study is. So I talk about A, laying a solid foundation. B, the Shemitah of Fulfillment and sub A, the secret patterning. B, the harvest season begins and all these studies are very relevant. C, dramatic types and prophetic scenarios. Hugely inspiring and informative for all of these, some very lengthy. So when, in part C, is the Shemitah of Fulfillment? Really good question. Sub A, the celestial sign was witnessed. The anchor. Yeah, that was my entry point into all this. B, counting off the units from the celestial sign and here's a very significant explanation for what I've just identified in the structure. And then sub C, the adjustment factor. Time resets into the past. Hugely significant perspective on all of what's going on here. So, in sub B, the keystone pattern and the extended keystone. What is that? Well, then I show examples of the keystone and extended keystone patterns. So, when I go to that second one in the examples, I have really more than 60 examples of this pattern I call the keystone pattern. It has to do with three things and then a fourth. And I still haven't seen anyone else who's identified this pattern in the Bible. But it's in significant places throughout. And this one I would also add to it, and so I did additional examples. And these are ones I discovered and added in since I did a video giving kind of a short intro to about 50-51 examples. So, here I have 1 Samuel 19 18-24, which I added today. Each time they came to Samuel and the Spirit of God came upon them and they prophesied. Then Saul himself went, as the fourth thing in sequence, right? Fourth of only four. And it happened to him personally. See the fascinating patterns in this study which we looked at, which is the structure and it's a 6 plus 6 parallelism. This text is the hinge of a very large span of text and I point to this study that called it to my attention. And this is notable that it's another keystone example that the Lord, well, drew me to very directly today. So, when I go here I'll show you why. Because this pattern has to do with time. There's kind of a long story and a short story to this. But I'm just going to read a little bit of this and you'll see. In 2008, while I was deep in this study of John 13, I was suddenly granted insight into the esoteric meaning of the following verse. John 13, 38. Pretty famous verse, right? And is it entirely cryptic? No, not entirely. But yet there is a layer that is very cryptic. What I found disappointing was the awareness that there would be seven more years before what I longed to see would manifest. What was unsettling was the realization that those years would bring many difficult trials to endure. If I would have realized that, there would have been an even longer delay due to the addition of another component that remained hidden from me, the adjustment factor, the reset of time, I would probably have been even more deeply unsettled. I definitely would have been. What I found comforting at this revelation of the Keystone Pattern was the awareness that I had received a key piece of the End Time chronology puzzle, the missing link I had been seeking for almost 17 years. It answered the question of when the Shemitah of Fulfillment would arrive relative to the celestial sign of 1991. I came to refer to this revelation insight about timing as the Keystone Pattern. We call this pattern the Keystone because it compares to the wedge shaped stone at the top of an arch. Here's a graphic. The Keystone provides the essential connection between two sides, joining two components together. Point of interest, I happen to be living in the Keystone State, Pennsylvania. The count of years is revealed through this cryptic prophecy, which in its simplest expression can be stated as three things and then a fourth. This sequence pertains to the biblical Shemitah cycles. To understand the importance of the role this Keystone Pattern plays, you have to see it as the vital connection between the celestial sign of 1991 and the Shemitah of Fulfillment. Without a connection, the celestial sign is isolated from what it is meant to give meaning to. There is no point having an anchor without the chain that attaches it securely to a ship. As we set forth in the study, what is the Lord's calendar, the Holy Day calendar? The customary way of identifying the appointed times on the Lord's calendar involves the counting off of units of time from a celestial sign. That's critical background. It's a foundation. It's an essential. Additionally, there are cycling sets of seven units in number that began being counted off from the first moment that biblical time began to be accounted, which is to say, in the beginning. This count of the Keystone Pattern involves both conventions. The counting began at the witnessing of the designated celestial sign, and that happened to be coincident with the cycle of seven years known as the Shemitah. So, you may ask, Shemitah? What is that? Well, here it's laid out in Exodus 23 verses 10 and 11. For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield. But the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat, and what they leave the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard and with your olive orchard. That special seventh year is called the Shemitah, but the word is also used to reference the entire seven-year cycle. The commands have to do with agriculture, and therefore with the harvest allegory and its schedule, the accounting of the Lord of the harvest schedule. The Yobel or Jubilee cycle depends upon the count of Shemitah, which is a prophecy about the freedom and restoration that will be joyously celebrated after the Shemitah of fulfillment is complete. So, long story short here, here's a graphic, the chronology of the end of the age, celestial sign of 1991, Yom Terah in the fall, and that's in the count from the beginning, Shemitah numbered 857, going back 6,000 years, and that is to span 1991 through 1998. Few would agree because the Lord confused it to conceal it from most and to reveal it to a few. That's just the way He works. Shemitah 2, Shemitah 3, these are the three things in the count of three things and then four. This is what John 13, 38 meant to me. This is what I see in 1 Samuel 19, 18-24 with the three sets of messengers sent to take David and then Saul himself goes. They all prophesy. He prophesies. So, I have kind of in a shadow another timeline which is where we are because this is not yet Shemitah 860. Even though we passed it by 2012 through 2019, we haven't come to it yet. It was, it is not, and it is coming. So, where are we today on this graphic? Well, we've run off the end of the runway. We're off here beyond the fifth thing. This would be the fourth. This would be the fifth. Oh my, we're in the sixth Shemitah past the celestial sign of 1991. Oh my. Yeah, time has run off the rails. How else it might be accounted and when we might actually see the reset back to probably middle of 2012-ish, I can't say I know, but I continue to watch. I continue to stay on alert and keeping my head in the game and I encourage you to do the same. Keep watching with me, won't you? Hope you found this interesting. God bless you. Bye-bye.
